Pri Bajdu Inn
This is an inn with more than a century of tradition. The earliest records of the existence of the inn date from 1871. At first the inn was known as a stopping point for wagon-drivers, where the horses could rest for a time from their long journey and the drivers could take refreshment.
Over the years the inn became increasingly well known for its tasty home-cooked food, good service, and hospitality. It is also known for being owned by a local family from the very beginning. It is now being run by the fourth generation, who have preserved the originality of the inn and strive to offer even today a taste of the past.
For many years it has been famous for its veal and pork shanks prepared according to a house recipe. It is also known for its wild game dishes, especially wild boar and deer. You can also find many indigenous Slovenian dishes on offer, dishes made from buckwheat porridge, mushrooms, etc.
In addition, there are many freshly prepared daily brunch specials as well as other dishes that vary according to the season.
The inn is located at the foot of Kriška Gora along the road connecting Kranj-Golnik-Tržič, in the village of Senično, which is located close to Golnik. The easiest way to get there is to take the Kranj west (zahod) exit, where you follow the road to the roundabout and take the third exit, then continue towards Golnik. When you get to Golnik continue along the main road for another kilomter and a half to the village of Senično. The inn is located on the left next to the road.
The location is an excellent starting point for climbing Kriška Gora or walking through the valley. After an enjoyable walk you can choose from among a wide selection of daily specials and brunches that are always freshly prepared as well as from traditional local dishes whose recipes have been passed down from generation to generation.
