A traverse of Košuta along the ridge is a challenge for any hiker; somewhat lower there is a traverse route for mountain bikers, but only the most experienced should attempt it.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION
The starting point for cycling tours is in the city centre, opposite the Tržič bus station. Parking is possible in public parking areas (parking lots at the Municipality of Tržič, on Predilniška Road at the entrance to the city-BPT, at the Tržič Olympians Hall, along the street Za Mošenikom, among others).
Go through Tržič along the main road to the northeast (towards Lom and the Dovžan Gorge). At Slap continue straight through the Dovžan Gorge, where the road will start to climb towards Dolina. From Dolina to Jelendol, the route stays pleasantly level and cool, following the course of the Tržič Bistrica River. Below the Born Mansion in Jelendol, keep to the right, following the gravel road that runs along the valley towards Medvodje.
In Medvodje turn left and ascend towards Košutnik.
At Košutnik turn right towards Dolga Njiva. Continue past the parking area (where a direct trail branches off) along the road for a few more curves. At a sharp right curve a logging trail branches off to the left; after a short descent along it you will come to the mountain pasture of Spodnja (Lower) Dolga Njiva. A short ascent to the hut follows, where you will be at the extreme eastern end of your route and the ridge of Košuta. From the hut go back 100 m and turn right along a marked hiking trail that runs along the southern slope of Košuta. Follow the trail markers to Pungrat mountain pasture. It will be necessary to dismount and walk your bike along a few short sections due to their steep slope or poor surface. At Pungrat mountain pasture you will join the road that leads to Šija mountain pasture. Continue towards Kofce. From Kofce follow the trail to Ravne, where you will turn left onto a forest road. Follow it past the turnoff for Kal all the way to the intersection with the forest road that leads to Šija. Turn right and descend towards Jelendol, and conclude your ride with a descent through the Dovžan Gorge towards Tržič.
GOOD TO KNOW
Due to its length and the rugged mountain terrain it passes through, the route is suitable only for experienced mountain bikers. It should be attempted only during stable weather conditions.
In the summer months livestock are grazed on the mountain pastures, so be sure to close gates behind you and try not to disturb the animals by going too fast.
