Pastures under Košuta are accessible from Tržič (marked path across Kal) and on marked paths from Podljubelj.
We kindly asked the hikers to park their vehicles at allowed places and do not enter the construction site.
Thank you for understanding.
The mountain pasture of Preval is a favourite destination on the southern slope of Begunjščica. The picturesque, easy, unmarked trail takes you from Ljubelj through the Born Tunnel to a mountain pasture at an elevation of 1311 m. You can also climb up to it from the Podljubelj Valley or the Draga Valley, or you can descend to it from Roblek Mountain Hostel on Begunjščica. From the south, from Dobrča, there is a marked trail over rolling terrain. It is an intermediate point along the Slovenian Mountain Trail and the long-distance hiking trail Via Alpina.
Above the hilly Ljubljana Basin, between Tržič and Begunje na Gorenjskem, rises the panoramic 1634-metre-high mountain of Dobrča. You can choose from among a number of marked paths to reach the summit, most of them starting from the foothill villages of Brezje pri Tržiču, Hudi Graben or Srednja Vas.
Kofce is the westernmost mountain pasture extending along the grassy southern slope of Košuta. It is just like the high mountain pasture of our dreams: a crystal clear blue sky, a sunlit mountain pasture, proud peaks above and a cottage in the middle. Inside the cottage and in front of it a bustle of happy hikers, young and old, enjoying home-cooked food.
From the Tržič Basin you can reach the scenic top of Kriška Gora after an ascent of two and a half hours. Before you is an elevation gain of 956 metres, but with every step you are closer to an unforgettable view. The trail is less travelled than the two that lead to Kriška Gora from Zgornje Vetrno or Gozd, and so there will be more than enough time to clear your mind.
The mountain pasture of Korošica is located on the southwestern slopes of Košutica (el. 1968 m), also called Baba by the locals. The pasture offers panoramic views and is a pleasant destination for a short trip, especially with a bowl of porridge and sour milk awaiting you there.
