T23 - Šija
Winter paradise in the central part of Košuta
Šija mountain pasture is home to Šija Scouts Hut (1528 m), which can be a destination or via point for enjoyable ski touring trips in the central part of Košuta. Due to its location the Šija area is less crowded than the neighbouring area of Kofce, thus offering a truly authentic mountain experience.

The mountain pastures beneath Košuta are famed for their spectacular views, and this is especially true for Šija, from which there is an expansive view of summits in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps above Jezersko, the conical Storžič and the rounded Dobrča, and the impressive grandeur of Triglav to the west.

From Podljubelj climb towards Kofce Mountain Hostel (1488 m).
ascent
From Kofce it is only about half an hour of easy, gentle traverse eastwards to Šija Scouts Hut, where only a short climb will leave you breathing a little harder. You can end the ascent at the hut, or you can climb a bit further and then enjoy the descent from the top of a scenic grassy slope in the area of the former mountain dairy (1627 m) beneath the mighty summit of Kladivo.

The relatively easy descent fllows the same route as the ascent.
Other possibilities
An ascent to Šija is also possible from Jelendol, by way of the mountain pasture of Dovžanka (description under ski touring route T31 – link ).
