Live nativity scene

Local actors perform a play related to the celebration of Christmas. The scene is set under the village linden tree, next to the Church of St Urh in Žiganja village, which gives the play a special charm.

LIVE NATIVITY SCENE 2024

On Friday, 20.12.2024 and Saturday, 21.12.2024, the 12th Living Nativity will be organised in Žiganja village at the Church of St Urh. On both evenings, the programme will start at 18.00 with a welcoming speach by the president of the KS Sebenje and the blessing of the nativity scene by the Križe parish priest.

The Live Nativity scene will be performed by members of KD Kruh. Children from primary schools and members of the Križe parish church choir will provide the singing accompaniment. After the performance, Santa Claus will come to the venue on both evenings and will present presents to the children. After the children's presents, there will be a party with Slovenian music.

At the same time, a Village Fair will be held in the event area, where local craftsmen and farmers will be selling their products and produce. New this year will be a fairy-tale forest behind the church where children's entertainment will be organised. Drinks and food will be provided by the members of the ŠKD Žiganja vas.

 

On Saturday, 21.12.2024, at 15.30, a hike along the Three Bells Trail will be organised , starting and finishing at the Žiganja vas event space. The hikers will have a short stop with refreshments in Novaki. The hike is included in the list of hikes of the Slovenian Mountaineering Association as part of the section InPlaninec - mountaineering for people with disabilities.
