Hidden cirque beneath Vrtača
Zelenica offers an excellent starting point for a tour to the beautiful cirque of Suho Ruševje, suitable also for less experienced skiers.

From Zelenica Mountain Hostel you can extend the tour to the area of Suho Ruševje, a beautiful cirque that nestles among the peaks of Vrtača to the west, Zelenjak and Palec to the north, and the border ridge Na Možeh to the northeast. The slopes there are not as steep and exposed as the ones below Begunjščica and Vrtača, and hence also suitable for less experienced skiers and mountaineers.
From Ljubelj ascend towards Zelenica Mountain Hostel (1536 m).
Just behind the hostel on the right side turn into a small steep area towards the west (in winter a rope tow operates here). At the top of the slope a view opens up towards Vrtača; to its right lies your destination.
Instead of descending into the Završnica Valley keep to the right, cross the former "Plana" ski run and at the signpost for the hiking trail towards Vrtača and Stol continue traversing past a small boulder among spruce and larch trees. Follow the trail markers for Vrtača and Stol. After about fifteen minutes of easy ascent through the trees look for a spur from the trail to the right, which is not marked (46.434185 14.225359). Leave the marked trail here and ascend through the last few metres of forest to the right to the scree below the ridge of Na Možeh.
A large boulder whose longer side is turned just in the direction of your destination will help you orient. From the boulder you will reach the edge of a moraine after a short and fairly steep ascent through shrubland. From here a view opens up of the entire amphitheatre of the cirque, all the way to the peaks of Palec and Zelenjak at the head of the valley. Continue the ascent along either the left or right side of the cirque towards the northeast to the saddle of Žleb (1912 m, between Zelenjak and Palec).
Ski down in the direction of the ascent; in the middle part instead of traversing in the direction of the ascent you can also descend towards the west in the direction of Završnica Hut (1425 m), from which you will need to once again ascent to Zelenica Mountain Hostel.
The tour itself is fairly easy, but it can be difficult to find the right spur from the marked trail that leads to Suho Ruševje. However, you can usually follow the trail made by earlier skiiers.
Experienced skiers can also opt for an ascent of Vrtača, Zelenjak or Palec; ice axe and crampons are required equipment.
